Introduction

I would expect social interactions to be similar when stylists and clients are both working class, but the client may not see the stylist as an expert because they may be familiar with the way the stylist was raised and their living conditions. Wealthy people may be ignorant of how people different from them live, and this may allow them to attribute more noble motives and regard the work more highly. In racially homogenous salons, the atmosphere may feel more collegial rather than hierarchical.
