Concept Introduction:
A chemical reaction is defined as a chemical change that occurs in the system when a substance combines with another one in order to form a different species.
The species initially present in the reaction are known as reactant species and the species that form after the completion of the chemical reaction are known as product species.

Explanation of Solution
Chemical reaction is defined as a process in which reactant species interact with each other in order to form products.
In a chemical reaction, neither the new atoms are created nor the previous atoms are destroyed. Bonds present in between reactant molecules break, the atoms are rearranged in order to form new bonds that results in the formation products. After the formation of products, the chemical reaction gets completed.
Basically, during a chemical reaction, rearrangement of bond between the reactants molecules takes place without breaking or formation of atoms.
A chemical reaction involves the interaction of reactant species with each other in order to form products.
