Concept introduction:

The parts of brain stem include the midbrain, pons, and medulla. The brain stem plays a key role to pass the information between the peripheral nervous system, midbrain, and forebrain. Large scale body movements’ instructions are carried by the axons from the central nervous system (CNS) to the medulla.
