To explain: How adrenal medulla is able to produce effects throughout the body even though it receives input only from sympathetic nervous system and pre-ganglionic neurons.

Concept introduction:

Preganglionic fiber terminates in a ganglion. There are axons from sympathetic neurons that reach the adrenal medulla which is the inner portion of the adrenal gland.
