The lymphatic system is a net of tissues and organs that aids rid the body of waste, another unwanted substance and toxins. It also termed as lymphoid system. It is made of a large group of lymphatic organs, lymphatic or lymphoid tissues, and lymphoid vessels.
The vessels transport a clear fluid towards the heart, called lymph. Unlike the circulatory system, the lymphatic system is not a closed system.
The main function of the lymphatic system is to carry a fluid containing white blood cells (lymph) fights with infection, throughout the body.
