Introduction: Erythropoietin is a peptide hormone, which is released by the kidney. The kidney hormone is useful to stimulate the secretion of approximately 90 percent of red blood cells in the blood, to carry oxygen. The release of erythropoietin in the blood can cause hypoxia due to an inadequate supply of oxygen to the tissue level.
