Question
Chapter 4.5, Problem 2PQ
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Researchers discovered that dreams are the product of pons activity. Pons part of the brainstem inhibits the release of neurotransmitters. This induces the movement of voluntary muscles while sending the random signals to the cortex area of the brain. After receiving the signal, the cortex and associate area start interpreting or synthesizing the story, or dream by using memories. When neurotransmitter signals from pons are transmitted to the cortex during consciousness the associated area of cortex begins interpretation of signals such as visual and hearing that belong to the real world.
