Introduction:

Sleep is one of the daily biological patterns that the animal or human body has to go through for normal functioning. The hypothalamus part of the brain, along with the neurotransmitter serotonin is responsible for controlling the cycle of sleeping and then waking up, which is a circadian rhythm. An individual can live without sleeping for only a limited period of time. There are two types of sleep, namely rapid eye movement sleep (REM) and non-REM sleep (NREM). NREM occurs in four stages.
