As the coal-burning power plant is situated 25 miles upstream from the residents, the wastes that are released by this plant probably flow towards downstream, where residents are present. It may cause pollution and contamination of ground water that people may use as drinking water. Due to some leakage in drinking water pipeline, it may also merge with wastes and contaminate the drinking water.
