To determine:

The different shapes of an exponential and a logistic growth curve.

Introduction:

Exponential growth rate is a constant rate of growth applies to a continuously growing base over a time interval. In this growth system, the amount being added to the system is proportional to the amount already present.

In Logistic growth curve, the amount at first increases gradually then at middle growth period it increases more rapidly and at the end, the level off at a maximum value after some period of time. The shape of logistic growth curve is sigmoidal or ‘S’ shape.
