What is the significance of the difference in the vessel wall thickness between the aorta and the pulmonary trunk?
I know that the pressure of the blood (hydrostatic pressure) is higher than the pressure of interstitial fluid at the arteriole end of the capillary bed. What about the partial pressure of oxygen? Is it higher in the interstitial fluid arteriole end than the blood? But then would this mean that there is less of a volume of oxygen in the arteriole end?
