The reason for the time difference between the germ cells and the skin cells in terms of determination and differentiation.

Introduction:

The cells that are responsible for the formation of the gametes are called as germ cells, and rest other cells are referred to as somatic cells. The germ cells are capable of undergoing meiosis (reductional division) to form haploid cells, whereas the somatic cells either do not divide at all or else would divide via mitosis (clonal division) only under certain circumstances, such as on injury or damage to the tissues like the skin cells.
