Chapter 43.2, Problem 1LO
Summary Introduction

To list: The first three classes of the receptors.

Introduction: Sensory receptors are structures specialized for the identification of a stimulus. The two common categories of sensory receptors are interoceptors and exteroceptors. Interoceptors receive several stimuli that originate from within an animal body. They sense changes in physiology and position of the body. Exteroceptors detect stimuli, involved in special and general senses, outside the body. Sensory receptors like the senses of taste, hearing, smell, vision, and touch provide such information.
