Introduction: The fundamental unit of life is a cell. Cells are modified in various ways to perform numerous functions. Eukaryotes are multicellular organisms, whereas prokaryotes are single-celled organisms. Fungi and protists are eukaryotic organisms; however, they are single celled. Animals and plants are eukaryotes. that is, they are multi-celled organisms.
