In animals, the right atria and left atria receives the oxygenated and deoxygenated types of blood that passes to the left and right ventricles, respectively. Here, the blood ventricles pump without mixing any of the oxygenated and deoxygenated types of blood. The animals exhibit double circulation, which means they have separate circulatory pathways, such as systemic and pulmonary circulation.
