Chapter 41.6, Problem 2QC
Summary Introduction
To compare: Keratoacanthoma and actinic keratosis.
Concept introduction: The term benign refers to noncancerous. Benign tumors are slow-growing tumors and are localized. They do not invade other body parts and nearby tissues, that is, they do not metastasize. They are well-differentiated tumors. They are not lethal and life-threatening except if it occurs in the brain. Most of the benign tumors are associated with aging and include keratoacanthoma, seborrheic keratosis, moles, and actinic keratosis.
