Mrs. S is a 72-year-old woman, has been diagnosed with lung cancer. She lived alone and after a lengthy hospital stay, she moved in with her daughter when it was determined that she is not capable of living alone. The nurse during her visit to provide home health care found that the patient was more depressed. She felt that she is a burden to her daughter. Though she is been treated for depression, the nurse was concerned of the effects that all this was having on her self-concept. The nurse came to know that Mrs. S used to be an important member of her Baptist church community and she got the minister to visit Mrs. S.
