Summary Introduction

To list: The events that sequentially take place during the contraction of a muscle.

Introduction: Muscle contraction takes place due to the movement of actin and myosin filaments. These filaments are categorized under striated muscle fiber. The plasma membrane, in this case, is known as “sarcolemma” and cytoplasm contained in the muscles are known as “sarcoplasm.” The basic unit of muscle contraction is known as “sarcomere” which is formed by the multiple repeating units of actin and myosin filaments.
