Introduction: The diversity and variation of life on Earth are referred to as biodiversity or biological diversity. An estimate of diversity at the genomic, species and ecological levels is called biodiversity. All systems supporting life on Earth, including those supporting humans, depend on it. People cannot maintain the healthy ecosystems that they depend on to give them the oxygen they breathe and the food they consume without a variety of animals, plants, and microorganisms.
