Chapter 4, Problem 8Q
Summary Introduction
To explain: The advantage of hypothetical proteins on mutual functioning.
Introduction: Hypothetical proteins are the ones whose presence in an organism is predicted but their expression in vivo is always a query. Protein complex is the cluster of two or more related proteins or polypeptide chains. Each protein in the complex has diverse function and has primary structure when it stays individually but when it clusters together performs a specific catalytic function by forming a quaternary structure. The individual proteins are joined together by non covalent bonds (weaker bonds that separate the proteins after performing a task from the complex).
