Summary Introduction

Introduction:

The cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells is comprised of network of protein fibers which is called as the cytoskeleton. Its function is to provide an anchor to various cell organelles and also to support the cell shape. Each protein fiber is made up of polymers of protein subunit that is assembled in long chains. There are three types of cytoskeletal fibers: actin filament, microtubules and intermediate filaments.
