To explain: The reason why cells do not contain millions of useless proteins, although a large number of useless mutations occur in the cell.

Introduction:

A mutation is an alteration in the sequence of DNA due to certain changes or damages to the DNA. Mutation can either be beneficial or harmful or null mutations. Beneficial mutations are those mutations that can produce useful effects on the organisms and can help to adapt to the new environment whereas the harmful mutations lead to certain genetic disorders that will damage the organisms. A null mutation has no effect on the cell.
