Concept introduction:

All living beings are composed of one or more cells to perform the specialized functions. Prokaryotes including bacteria and archaea are unicellular organisms. Eukaryotes include some single-celled and all multicellular organisms. All the cells, either prokaryotic or eukaryotic cells have few common features including the presence of DNA, plasma membrane, cytoplasm, and ribosomes. However, eukaryotes have membrane-bound organelles such as nucleus that prokaryotes do not have.
