File compression:
- It is the process of shrinking a file in order to reduce the actual size of the file. This is done in order to free up spaces on the storage media.
- It is also easy for the user to attach the compressed file to e-mail which also reduces the time required for the file transmission.
- Compressed files are also called as zipped files.
- If a person gets a compressed file, then he/ she should unzip the file in order to get the original form.
