Introduction:

Transport through a cell membrane is the movement of ions and molecules. It could be through passive diffusion or active transport. Simple diffusion is a process in which a substance passes through a membrane. It does not involve the help of an intermediary (a protein). The force which moves the substance from one to the other side of the membrane is the force of diffusion.
