Concept introduction:
In the given case, the person (J) is now in the Cancer Center for the third dose of the first round of chemotherapy. The person (J) had a strong reaction to the medication and his white count is decreased to so low that is the reason he was unable to take the next dose of chemotherapy. Even though (J) feels good physically and understands the rationale behind for holding the next round, the person (S) is convinced that the treatment is not working. When you meet the person (S), you notice that she is talking fast and cannot concentrate and crying. She also has a friend with her, and a friend tells you that (S) does not understand what the oncologist said. When he said that we need to skip the dose for this week, but (S) interpreted it as we have to skip the chemotherapy.
