High blood pressure often is accompanied by kidney damage. In some people, the kidney is subsequent to the high blood pressure, but in others the kidney damage is the cause of the high blood pressure. Explain how a bow-salt would enableyou to determine whether the high blood pressure the key damage came first.
To determine:
If a low salt diet would enable in determining whether the high blood pressure or kidney damage came first.
Introduction:
Aldosterone is released by the adrenal cortex and it is responsible for sodium, chloride, potassium (electrolytes) and fluid balance in the body. Aldosterone is also known as mineralocorticoid hormone, as it regulates the mineral concentration in the body.
Explanation of Solution
Aldosterone releases from adrenal cortex in response to low blood pressure and is responsible for balancing the mineral concentration in the body. The secretion of aldosterone is controlled by two mechanisms; by changing the concentration of sodium-potassium ion in blood plasma, and by rennin-angiotensin mechanism.
If an individual is feeding on low salt diet, and do not have high blood pressure, shows that the renin is released in response to aldosterone which regulate the blood pressure and that the kidney is not damaged. If the same individual shows high blood pressure, it means only aldosterone is released from kidney and not renin, which increases the blood pressure and does not regulate it, this indicates that kidney is damaged.
Low salt diet enables any individual to observe whether the kidney damage or the high blood pressure came first.
