Summary Introduction

To determine: The features of a tree that can be located with the unaided eye from the following: the outer bark, the inner bark, the secondary xylem, the vascular cambium and annual rings if the tree has been freshly cut.

Introduction: Trees usually have woody stems and they grow to be very tall. Lateral growth is seen in tree trunks by the formation of secondary layers of tissues. Secondary layers of growth provide support and strength to the stems of trees.
