The changes occurred in the structure of developing fetus of a 3 month pregnant woman after the consumption of illicit drugs.

Concept introduction:

Teratogens are the compounds that cause the birth defect in the developing embryo. Illicit drugs act as the active teratogens that cause severe birth defects in the children. Illicit drugs like cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine are responsible for causing poor fetal growth and low birth weight.
