Summary Introduction
To determine: The way in which growth rings form in woody stems.
Introduction: Growth rings are concentric circles present in cross section of stem of woody trees. A growth ring is basically a layer of wood that has been formed during a single year of growth. The age of a tree can be determined by studying the patterns of growth rings. “Dendrochronology” is the branch of science that deals with the study of patterns of growth rings. The climate is one of the factors that influence the pattern of growth ring formation.
