Chapter 34.6, Problem 18SAQ
Summary Introduction

To draw: The brain, label the lobes and write their primary functions.

Introduction:

Brain is the most complex organ of all. Its functioning is as complex as is its structure. According to their functions and positions the different regions of the brain have been divided into four lobes, namely: frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital.

Fig. 1: The four lobes of the brain.

The four lobes of the brain are:

(1) Frontal lobe: This lobe is the most anterior of all the lobes in the cerebral cortex just behind the forehead. Its primary function is to do planning and decision making.

(2) Parietal lobe: It is posterior to the frontal lobe, with central sulcus separating these two lobes. This helps in performing complex tasks like dressing up and it also controls the body’s awareness.

(3) Temporal lobe: It is present inferior to the parietal lobe. It helps in the processing of sound, aids recognition, naming, reading and language.

(4) Occipital lobe: It is the posterior most lobe in the brain and lies below and behind the parietal lobe. Its main function is the processing of visual stimuli.

Conclusion

The four lobes of the brain perform different important functions of the body and helps the body to respond to the stimulus appropriately.

Outline a method for using apomixis to maintain feminized CannabisAssume apomixis is controlled by a single dominant gene. You can choose the type of apomixis: obligate or facultative, gametophytic or sporophytic. Discuss advantages and disadvantages of your proposed method.
Kinetics: One-Compartment First-Order Absorption 1. In vivo testing provides valuable insight into a drug’s kinetics. Assessing drug kinetics following multiple routes of administration provides greater insight than a single route of administration alone. The following data was collected in 250-g rats following bolus IV, oral (PO), and intraperitoneal (ip) administration.  Using this data and set of graphs, determine:(calculate for each variable) (a) k, C0, V, and AUC* for the bolus iv data  (b) k, ka, B1, and AUC* for the po data  c) k, ka, B1, and AUC* for the ip data  (d) relative bioavailability for po vs ip, Fpo/Fip  (e)absolute ip bioavailability, Fip  (f) absolute po bioavailability, Fpo
