Case summary:
The home care nurse visits Mrs. J who takes care of her 3-month-old granddaughter as well as her 23-year-old daughter. The nurse sees Mrs. J crying and notices she had not taken her pain medication. The nurse gives pain medication she tells it has reduced her pain but she feels drowsy. Mrs. J shares some of her statements with the nurse regarding if she is able to provide childcare and also states that she want to be normal again and she looks disgusting. While on another visit, the nurse finds Mrs. J is very stressed, she states that she can’t take thinks anymore, the baby is constantly crying, and her daughter does not like her food. Moreover, Mrs. J is tearful and very much in fatigue since she takes care of her daughter with Alzheimer’s disease and her granddaughter.
