In each of the following, answer the question using estimation methods if possible. If estimation is not appropriate, explain why not.

a. Josh has $\$380$ in his checking account. He wants to write checks for $\$39,\$28,\text{ \$59 and \$250}\text{.}$ Will he have enough money in his account to cover for these checks?

b. Gila deposited two checks into her account, one for $\$981$ and the other for $\$1140$. Does she have enough money in her account to cover a check for $\$2000$ if we know she has a positive starting balance to start with?

c. Alberto and Juan are running for city council. They receive votes from two districts. Alberto receives 3473 votes from one district and 5615 votes from the other district. Juan receives 3463 votes from the first district 5616 from the second. Who gets elected?
