Concept introduction:

Insulin is an endocrine hormone that is secreted by the beta cells of the pancreas, which are used to decrease blood glucose concentration. It directly affects the lipid metabolism. It inhibits lipolysis and stimulates lipogenesis from adipose tissues. In addition, protein synthesis is stimulated by insulin. Insulin decreases the blood glucose concentration by increasing the glucose uptake into tissues.
