Introduction:
Skin is the main part of the integumentary system. It has two main regions that are epidermis and dermis. Dermis region of the skin is made of “dense connective tissue beneath the epidermis” and contains elastic fibers and collagen. The epidermis of the skin is made up of “stratified squamous epithelium”. Specialized cells that are present in the epidermis contain melanocytes which produce “melanin pigment” responsible for color of skin.
