Summary Introduction

To describe:

The structure and function of skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscle.

Introduction:

Skeletal muscles are also called as “voluntary muscles,” these muscles are attached to the bones by the tendons. The contraction in these muscles is responsible for the movements of the body parts. Contraction of these muscles is under voluntary control.

Smooth muscles are also called “visceral muscle”, present in the periphery of the intestine, stomach and other internal organs) they are not under voluntary control and hence called the involuntary smooth muscles.

Cardiac muscles are the muscles of the heart. The contraction of cardiac muscles pumps blood and also responsible for the heartbeat.
