The reason for the relation between elongation factors and G-proteins should be determined.

Concept introduction:

Elongation proteins are used during the elongation in protein synthesis. There are four elongation factors, EF-Tu, EF-Ts, EF-G, and EF-P. The function of EF-Tu is to translocate aminoacyl-tRNA to the A site of the ribosome. EF-Ts catalyze the removal of GDP from EF-Tu. The function of EF-G is to translocate tRNA and mRNA in the ribosome. EF-P catalyzes the formation of peptide bonds between the first amino acid and second amino acid.
