Concept introduction:
Most of the enzymes exhibit absolute specificity. According to the absolute specificity, the enzyme can catalyze only one type of reaction, and the active site of the enzyme can form a bond only with one type of substrate. In such enzymes, if the substrate is not able to fit in the active site of the enzyme, then the reaction will not proceed.
