To describe: How contribution of seeds and other adaptations led to rise of seed plants and made them dominant in plant communities.
Introduction:
Seed plants, also known as spermatophytes, consist of those plants that produce seeds. The presence of seeds and other adaptations has played a pivotal role in helping them to survive in various conditions and making them a dominant form of plant. The major features of the seed plants include seeds and pollen grains. The seeds aid in protecting the embryo in extreme environments, while the pollen grains provide mobility to the sperm. It enables the movement of sperm from one plant to a new plant, thus helping in pollination and formation of a seed. The means of dispersion of pollens can be either by the help of wind or by an animal. Hence, it can travel to longer distances and to various places to help in pollination. Thus, seeds and other adaptations have contributed to the rise of seed plants, and their dominance in plant communities.

Selected Answer: This allows plants to link flowering to temperature, which corresponds to the season when conditions are optimal Answers: This allows plants to link flowering to day length, which corresponds to the season when conditions are optimal Flower petals carry out high levels of photosynthesis and require high light conditions This allows plants to link flowering to temperature, which corresponds to the season when conditions are optimal A minimum amount of light is always necessary for floweringarrow_forward

- SUBJECT: GENERAL BIOLOGY 1 / CAM and C4 Photosynthesis Plant adaptation is varied among all organisms present on Earth’s fauna. Also, we can’t deny the fact that as time goes by, the amount of carbon rises making it more complicated for the rest of organisms to adapt and survive. Drain off excess alcohol from the buds and aseptically excise the anthers from each bud. Remove the filaments and culture the anther on one of the agar media provided. Label the stage of development of the bud on each petri dish as the anthers are cultured. Seal the Petri dishes with parafilm. Incubate in the dark at 26 to 28ºC for 4 to 8 weeks or until small plants can be seen growing out of the anthers. Then transfer to diffuse light. Record the results of the experiment in table form and submit the report.
