Chapter 3, Problem 9P
Interpretation Introduction

To Calculate:

Weight of creatine phosphate that would need to be consumed each day by a typical adult human if creatine phosphate could not be recycled should be calculated. If creatine phosphate were recyclable how many times would each creatine phosphate molecule need to be turned over or recycled each day should be calculated. The calculations should be repeated glycerol-3-phosphate.

Introduction:

ATP is the universal energy carrier of human body. An average adult human consumes around 11700 kJper day. And efficiency of metabolic pathways which leads to ATP synthesis is 50 %. Therefore from 11700 kJwhich a person consumes as a food, only about 5860 kJwill end up in ATP. Free energy yield by the hydrolysis of ATP is 50 kJ/molunder cellular conditions. Therefore according to the calculations average adult human will consume around 65 kgATP per day. But there is a highly efficient ATP/ADP recycling system in the human body which ATP recycles around 1300times a day.

Biochemistry What is the process of "transamination" in either the muscles or the liver, that involves keto acid or glutamic acid? Please explain how the steps work. Thank you!
Biochemistry Please help. Thank you What is the importance of glutamic acid in the metabolism of nitrogen from amino acids? (we know therole; it’s used to remove the nitrogen from amino acids so that the remaining carbon skeleton can bebroken down by the “usual” pathways, but what is the important, unique role that only glutamicacid/glutamate can do?)
