Introduction

Avatar therapy is a modern technique of providing therapeutic treatment with the use of technology and a virtually-simulated world. This therapy believes that psychological distress results from not being able to cope effectively in one's social world. They use a virtual avatar, which engages in different social situations relevant to the client. This, inadvertently, helps the client learn to deal with uncomfortable situations effectively in the real world.
