Introduction:
Oncogenes activate cell division while tumor suppressor genes suppress the same. Mutations in the tumor suppressor gene and proto-oncogene are the main causes of cancer. The activation of oncogenes causes cancer, whereas inhibition of the tumor suppressor gene causes cancer.
