Introduction: Based on the components of the central nervous system, nerves are classified into two types, namely cranial nerves and spinal nerves. There are twelve pairs of cranial nerves and six spinal nerves that extend from the brain. Bundles of axons inside the central nervous system (CNS) are called tracts.
