Three important characteristics of a sound wave:

The sound waves transmitted through the voice circuit have three important characteristics. They are as follows:

• Amplitude
• Frequency
• Phase

Amplitude:

• Amplitude is the height of the wave, which is measured in decibels (dB).
• Amplitude is the volume of sound which our ears can hear.
• Every sound wave has two parts: half above the zero amplitude point is positive and half below is negative.
• Both halves are always of the same height.
