Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Taste is a sense that is developed at the earliest stages of life. When certain foods are digested by a pregnant woman, their flavors are added to the amniotic fluid, which is ingested by the fetus. Taste is a type of chemical sense, which is also affected by olfaction. The perception of taste starts with the taste receptors, known as taste buds. The human tongue has thousands of taste buds, which contain a group of about 150 cells, including different types of receptor cells for different tastes. Food that we eat can stimulate two or more receptors, sending the taste signals to the brain.
