Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Plasmodium is a genus of parasitic protozoan of the sporozoan that is the causative organisms of malaria. As well as five species are also involved in the cause of human malaria such as P. vivax, P. ovale, P. falciparum, P. malariae, and P. knowlesi. Plasmodium basically infects red blood cells of mammals, birds, and reptiles. Plasmodium occurs globally, especially in tropical and temperate zones. The organism is transmitted into a human being by the bite of the female Anopheles mosquito. Additionally, other insects and some mites can also transmit malaria to animals.
