Introduction:
In case of high mass star, the force due to gravity is increased, this results into high force of compression. The force of compression is directly related to the concentration of heat. So the star with high mass has the high internal compression which results into more heat of concentration that finally results into higher rise of temperature of star. The higher temperature, cause the increased rate of fusion which results into shorter life of the star.
In case of low mass star, the force due to gravity is not so great, this results into less force of compression. The force of compression is directly related to the concentration of heat. So the star with less mass has the less internal compression which results into less heat of concentration that finally results into lower temperature of star. The lower temperature, cause the reduced rate of fusion which results into longer life of the star.
Therefore, the low mass stars live longer than high mass stars due the reason that low mass star has reduced rate of fusion which results into longer life of the star.
