The length of the wiped area would be same as the length of the face.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction: Angle of reflection is equals to angle of incidence. The law of reflection applies to both, totally reflected waves and partially reflected.
Explanation: When light hits a plane mirror, it reflects outward at the same angle. The lime of a person’s vision will be the path of light from the eye to top and bottom edges of the exposed region of the mirror. Means that the taller exposed region of the mirror is, the more persons face is seen. Also, closer to the mirror, the mirror shows a larger face.
According to the question, the mirror must be half as large as your face, in both length and width dimensions, regardless of where the mirror is held.
Conclusion: The mirror must be large enough.So, rays drawn from a person’s eye to entire virtual image of that person’s head strike reflecting surface.
