Introduction:

The plant organs, such as leaves and young shoots, are covered with the thin layer of a waxy substance called the cuticle. The cuticle is composed of the cutin a polyester mainly formed by C16 and C18 fatty acid monomers, which is hydrophobic in nature. The cuticle does not allow the passage of the water and gases through it.
