Introduction: The process of eating plants by animals is called as herbivory. Herbivory produces physical damage to the plants. It is a mode of transmission of infection among plants. Plants have several physical and chemical means of defense mechanisms against herbivory. The physical means is a change in the physical structure of a plant such as thick cell wall, thorns, and spines. Plants produce chemicals especially secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, opioids, glycosides, and terpenoids preventing the attack from several organisms.
